. (In these times of Corona this Poster still calls to ourpatriotic sensibilities and need for communal co-operation) United We Win.World War II. The Government was well aware of the demoralizing effects ofracial prejudice on the American population and its impact on the war effort. As a part of the patriotic war effort The black press referred to a"Double V"-victory over fascism abroad and over racism at home.Though a groundbreaking poster it came to symbolize America's failed commitmentto integration of the races.  After WW II and during the War effort TheRaces remained segregated. Nonetheless, a striking image that spoke of thepossibilities of The American Dream.
The photo was taken by the great
    AlexanderLiberman
