Description
This particular sword style was patterned from the mid 14th century Swiss design calledSchweizerdegen
The blade is 22” long, 1-9/16” wide at the guard and made from forged 5160 carbon steel. Blade is .275” / 7mm thick at the base and tapers to .12” / 3mm thick an inch from the tip. A wide and long groove is 9-1/8” long and 1-3/4” wide. Polished iron cross guard is 4-1/4” wide with tapered ends. Hardwood grip is stained black with 4 sides cross section and is 4” long. At the back of the grip is the pommel that flares out with a polished iron cap.
Comes with a black leather sheath with a pair of brass rings for carrying. Weighs 1 lb. 14oz without the scabbard. Balance point, like in a seesaw, is 4” from the guard. Excellent balance that one can feel instantly.
