1/6 Plate ( 2"3/4 x 3"1/4 ) Daguerreotype Photograph by African American Photographer Augustus Washington of Hartford Connecticut.
-Medical/ Illness ?  The Lady has Black Circles around eyes
-Interesting composition
-Whites of her shirt and brooch look very appealing
-Black Bands
Daguerreian Frosting from the Mercury liquid being slightly too warm during the photographic process.
Wipes: Above head is heaviest ( see last auction photo, no flash ), right side wipe is extremely light and mostly on the background, left side is very faint and thin and travels from left side below ear and goes through her arm near elbow.
Mat scuff left shoulder (looking at dag).  Mat abrasions, specs, spots, green corrosion.
Missing lid, latch hook also missing and also surface leather wear and loss.  Preserver is broken with loss.
